Premium College Admission Package (PCAP) Premium College Admission Package: Early Action (PCAP Early Action) PCAP Video Demo Total Solution |
Stanford looks for them with the intensity of a scientist. The Ivies accept nearly all of their applicants based on these criteria. This element of the application pushes students either above or below admissions thresholds for the University of California. We're talking about interesting extracurriculars. Not piano. Not badminton. Not answering phones (aka "volunteering") at the local hospital.
What Makes an Interesting Student? It's a question that plagues most families, and the answer is ThinkTank Learning's Total Solution Package. Total Solution turns solid academic students into passionate, unique, focused kids who colleges see as "difference makers" on their campuses and beyond.
Total Solution can begin working with students as early as the summer after their 8th grade year, and takes them through the first semester of 11th grade, when they begin working with the PCAP Early Action program. The program begins with an interest inventory and personality test - both of which give the student an idea of the college major and career they would best be suited for. Through meetings and research, the strategy for the "packaging" of the student is gradually determined. Once the student has been focused in a particular direction, the ThinkTank consulting staff develops a plan of action for the time that the student has until their college applications are due.
Total Solution Features Courses and SAT Consultations:- Select four years of high school courses.
- Select SAT dates and subjects.
- Discuss appropriate solutions for students.
- Take a personality test and discuss results.
- Take an interest test to help narrow their future occupation search.
- Journal and discuss different topics to start them thinking about their future.
- Discuss how what they do now affects their future.
- Complete exercises to help find unique extracurricular activities.
- "Try on" an occupation by researching and speaking with a person in that occupation.
- Set goals and create a path that students will present to parents including revised course selection, extracurricular activity selection, summer extracurricular activities selections, SAT dates and subjects.
