Premium College Admission Package (PCAP)

As you have heard, the college admissions process has never been as competitive or complex as it is right now. Fortunately, we at ThinkTank Learning make it our business to be as knowledgeable as possible about college admissions. Our Premium College Admission Package, or PCAP, is the vessel that makes this monumental, stressful job easy and streamlined.

Considering the competitive nature of college admissions, one of the most important factors in the process is knowledge regarding colleges' tendencies, preferences, and needs. Completing the college application does not merely entail editing essays. It involves knowing what the schools want and delivering it to them in as attractive a manner as possible. At ThinkTank, we have the background to present students as the colleges need to see them.

With PCAP, students receive one-on-one guidance and assistance with picking the colleges to which they will apply; they receive personalized instruction regarding how to best "package" their application; and, they are assigned a personal "Essay Consultant" to guide them through the multiple, tedious essays (Stanford, for instance, has four essays and ten short answer questions) in terms of content, structure, and grammar.

In addition to our traditional PCAP program, ThinkTank is proud to offer our PCAP Guarantee Package. We understand that the odds of acceptance are low for many competitive colleges, and parents prefer to have the assurance that any college assistance services they purchase will not be in vain. Our Guarantee Package provides this assurance. We evaluate the student's probabilities of admission at the colleges of his or her choice, and calculate a price based on these probabilities. Should a student fail to be admitted to their schools, 100 percent of their money is refunded.

To partake in either of ThinkTank's PCAP programs, simply request a PCAP Information Sheet, complete it, and return it to ThinkTank. We will provide you with prices for both the Guarantee Package as well as non-guarantee services. In either case, you can expect the same hard work, knowledge, and personal attention that have become a hallmark of ThinkTank Learning.

ThinkTank Learning's senior consultant was frequently featured on the San Jose Mercury News (2005 and 2006) and has appeared on numerous TV interviews and radio shows. So you can rest assured that your student is helped by the best.

Premium College Admission Package: Early Action (PCAP Early Action)

Everyone knows the student with nearly perfect grades and test scores denied by elite colleges. On the other hand, we're equally well-acquainted with the kid who's had no direction through the first two years of high school but has earned admission to a top-tier university. "How does this happen?" we ask.

The answer lies in their involvement. By participation in selective, prestigious internships and extracurriculars during their junior year, students can turn an average profile into a winning college application.

This is where PCAP Early Action comes in.

Beginning with high school juniors before May 15 of their junior year, PCAP Early Action provides interest evaluation, an academic focus, arrangement of internship and extracurricular opportunities, and assistance with internship applications.

PCAP Early Action Features

Junior Year - Spring:

  • A multi-tiered intake session that entails grade evaluation, future coursework arrangement, and an interview to better understand the student's achievements, academic interests, and personal background.
  • Administration and grading of the Myers-Briggs personality test, which discloses potential fields in which the student may have unperceived strengths.
  • Determination of the academic focus that will ultimately allow the student to earn admission to the most elite schools.
  • Internship search, application preparation, and resume and cover letter completion assistance.

Junior Year - Summer:

  • College selection based upon academic factors as well as extracurriculars and field of interest.
  • University essay preparation.
  • Letter of recommendation brag sheet assistance.

Senior Year - Fall:

  • Application completion assistance and submission.
  • Application follow-up and confirmation.
  • Admission interview coaching and training.

Senior Year - Spring:

  • Scholarship application assistance.
  • Financial aid offer evaluation.
  • Advisement on the best college "fit" for the student.

Ultimately, PCAP Early Action is an intervention program that directs students toward selective college admission. Regardless of the student's academic background, channeling them toward activities that allow them to appear intellectually curious and academically passionate is a practice that yields tremendous gains. Putting PCAP Early Action to work for the student allows them to take advantage of the opportunities that can put them "over the top" for admission to highly selective schools.
