Steven: Senior Consultant

As a head admission consultant at ThinkTank Learning for the past four years, Steven has helped hundred of students getting into their dream schools.  Aside from meeting with students and parents, Steven spends much time outreaching to the community.  Steven also hosts an educational radio program in FM96.1 and lectures in various local seminars.  In his free time, Steven enjoys reading biographies and learning to fly.
   

David: Consultant

Throughout his life David has been involved with education and helping kids discover and achieve their goals. As a member of ThinkTank Learning's education consulting team, David specializes in pre-admission planning and coaching for middle and high school students. David holds educational seminars and teaches college planning courses for ThinkTank Learning on a regular basis. In addition to working with ThinkTank Learning, David also routinely works at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory particle accelerator, the Advanced Light Source. With his spare time David likes to travel, go swing dancing and read about history and politics.
   

Eddie: Assistant Consultant

Education:  M.A. - San Diego State University
                   B.A. - Loyola University
Eddie has worked in higher education and college admissions for nearly a decade, and has loved every minute of it.  After graduating from college, Eddie recruited and evaluated students for Loyola in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, where he read upward of 600 essays and applications per year.  Eddie also has worked as an application and essay evaluator in the UCSD Office of Admissions - a position where he was able to develop an "insider's view" on what the University of California looks for in an applicant.
   

Daniel: Education Consultant

Education: B.A - UCLA
Daniel has always held a passion for helping students in need. Having had no one to guide him through the college admissions process, Daniel understands what a challenging time it can be for both students and parents. He received his B.A. in English from UCLA and has spent his post-undergraduate experience teaching and guiding students through the college admissions process. He has also spent much of his time tutoring and helping students in English and Mathematics. In his free time, Daniel enjoys reading, watching movies, and rock climbing.
   

Albert: Interview Consultant

Education: B.A. - Cornell University
Albert attended a prestigious boarding school in Boston, Milton Academy.  A strong emphasis on the college application process was focused upon there.  Albert has also interviewed prospective students for both Milton Academy and Cornell University.  He is well versed in the interview aspect of the college application process.
   

Alexandra: Essay Consultant

Education: B.A. - University of San Diego
Alexandra Della Rocchetta graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of San Diego. She received her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations with a minor in History. While in college, she interned at the United States Department of State, as well as the National Defense University in Washington, D.C. There, she researched political science and foreign affairs issues, concentrating on the areas of East Asia and the Middle East. In addition, Alex has worked for 3 years as a tutor for high school and college students in the subjects of reading, writing, theology, mathematics, and science.
   

Cecilia: Essay Consultant

Education: B.A. - Stanford University

Cecilia Yen is a recent graduate of Stanford University, where she majored in Psychology and minored in Biological Sciences and Chinese. At Stanford, one of her primary volunteer activities was tutoring children and young adults of all ages. She also spent the summer of her junior year as an editorial assistant for an English-language magazine in Beijing, China. Since graduating, Cecilia has spent her time as a volunteer writer/reporter for the Bay Area Red Cross, an editorial assistant for a local magazine, an English teacher in Japan, and a writer/researcher for a local non-profit health company. In her spare time, Cecilia enjoys reading, running, and traveling.

   

Diana: Essay Consultant

Education: B.A. - Northwestern University
Diana hails from San Francisco ("The City"), where she works as a professional actress-singer-dancer as well as a freelance journalist and writing/performing arts teacher. In a former life, she was a high school English teacher in San Jose through the nationally recognized organization, Teach for America. Currently, she is a Storytelling Exchange Facilitator with Streetside Stories, a non-profit organization based in San Francisco dedicated to bringing autobiographical writing, storytelling/performance, and improvisational theatre to the students of the SFUSD and OUSD. Gabriel: Essay Consultant

Education: Ph.D. - The Union Institute and University

               B.S. - University of San Francisco
Gabriel has been consulting with students and adults for counseling, writing, and editing for over thirty years. His stories, reporting, and essays have appeared in numerous magazines, newspapers, and journals throughout North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. He has ten books published in the U.S. His most recent is a novel called Buddha's Wife, scheduled for release this fall by Rockway Press. He is also enjoying the recent completion of his screenplay entitled Stellina Blue by Fly High Films in L.A. Gabriel's greatest passion is for his wife and their five children (two adopted) and the young people they support and try to visit each year at El Shaddai Center for Orphans in Rwanda, East Africa.
   

Joshua: Essay Consultant

Education: B.A. - CSU Chico
Josh is a San Jose native who enjoys both reading and writing, as well as music and sports. He graduated from California State University, Chico, with a B.A. in English and a minor in Creative Writing. He is currently enrolled in the M.F.A. program at San Jose State University; studying creative writing with a primary emphasis on poetry and a secondary emphasis on fiction. Along with working at Think Tank, Josh is also currently interning at SJSU and training to become a college professor.
   

Paul: Essay Consultant

Education: M.A. - University for Peace
                    B.A. - College of William and Mary
Paul Negley's eclectic work background stretches from green entrepreneurship, public health, political fundraising, finance, to writing. He came to San Francisco from American University where he pursued his second Masters in International Affairs. After a two and a half year stint in Morocco with the US Peace Corps, he attended the UN-affiliated University for Peace in Costa Rica where he received a MA in Natural Resources and Sustainable Development. Paul is also an alumnus of The College of William and Mary where he studied Government and Philosophy. He has scored in the 98th percentile in writing on the GRE and has recently published two short stories. Currently, he is conducting research for the Rainforest Action Network on the Global Finance Campaign to evaluate the role of financial sectors in global climate change.
   

Rebecca: Essay Consultant

Education: M.F.A. - Saint Mary's College
               B.A. - George Washington University
Rebecca is a student in the Master of Fine Arts program at Saint Mary's College in Moraga where she is studying poetry. She graduated summa cum laude from The George Washington University in 2004. Shortly after graduating, she moved back to the Bay Area, where she is originally from, and worked as a staff reporter for a small community newspaper. Now, in addition to working as an essay consultant for ThinkTank, she is a reader at UC Berkeley and a teaching intern at Saint Mary's College.
