Testimonials

From its knowledgeable staff to its friendly atmosphere, ThinkTank immediately puts you at ease. Working with its private tutors and taking courses here has helped me do much better in school. I have even gotten to know each staff member personally, and they all show genuine interest in our success.

I had always struggled with Chemistry, but working with Randy turned things around. He encouraged me to take Chem AP, and with his help, I did very well in the class and received exceptional scores on the Chem SAT II and the AP test.

Mr. Steven Ma
ThinkTank Learning
San Mateo, CA

Dear Mr. Ma;
I would like to share my positive experience with one of your certified tutors, Ms. Michelle Chuor. After 10 hours of tutoring with Michelle, my daughter Sydney L. overcame the fear of a 30 minute ACT essay and gained a better understanding of what is expected on the test. More importantly, Sydney can and will use these skill in various subject in her academic career.

Michelle teaches with competency, positive attitude and enthusiasm. She explains every concept tirelessly and offers constructive criticism. Sydney now understands what is expected in the essay and has fun learning it. At the end of each lesson, Michelle would ask Sydney to do a new diagnostic test and helped her with the ones she missed in the following lesson. Michelle would take home an essay and return with corrections at the next lesson; and then she would ask Sydney to rewrite the essay. She is able to explain a seemingly dry and difficult subject and make it non stressful and easy to understand.

Within a short time, Sydney was able to improve her English score from 24 to 32 in a practice test. Sydney is scheduled for the September ACT test and she is looking forward to improve her writing and eventually her scores.

I would recommend Michelle to anyone who wants to learn about Literature and writing and that makes us very grateful.

Best Regards,

Selina L.

"Dennis has been admitted to all the UC's including Berkeley, UCLA and UC San Diego. He could not have done it alone without your help. Thank you very much!"

"My experience at TTLearning's Jr. Physician was simply amazing. In just a few weeks time, I had learned a large amount of biology and chemistry. I learned much about dissection when I dissected a heart, a frog, and an eyeball. Jr. Physician also gave me time to take a break, so it wasn't a full learning session or a huge part of my summer (even though it was the highlight of my summer!). The English part of the experience was also great; I learned things like how to write better essays and read a phenomenal book. Debate was fun as well, because I learned that politics isn't just people yelling at each other and throwing books; it was very gentle and we learned how to talk and converse. Other than that, I also made many new friends and got ready for high school Jr. Physician was just an epic experience!"

"With the help of ThinkTank Learning Center, I was able to significantly improve my SAT score. Their math lessons reinforced my knowledge with additional practice, but the English courses were especially helpful, arming me with the strategies and vocabulary necessary for my 800 in reading. The classes, which were both fun and instructive, provided me with the skills I needed to ace the SAT. Thank you ThinkTank Learning!"

"When congratulation popped up on my computer screen, I was speechless... I cried."
- Jing Li, Class of 2009, UC Berkeley

"I didn't know what to write for my personal statements at first, but Steven showed me how I was unique and we came up with powerful essays that really differentiated me from others."
- David Li, Class of 2010, UC Los Angeles

"Other counselors may be able to tell whether an essay is good or bad, but Steven was able to help me see which topics of my life would make for a good essay in the first place. I think Steven can be characterized by two objects: a coach, and trophy polish. As a coach, he works tirelessly to encourage and aid his students in their application, and his unique ability to understand each student on an individual basis helps each application shine. I went to Steven as an unobtrusive stone, Steven helped me to see how I was special and made my application shine."
- Michael Wei, Class of 2010, Stanford University

"Ma had also recommended Jing apply to Berkeley. But she was certain she wouldn't get in and didn't want to check. Then one day while online in her father's lab, she signed on to the UC Web site and saw an acceptance."
